Our Adult Sunday School will be meeting on Sundays when we do not have a Bicentennial History Forum. The forums will be every third Sunday in the Great Hall. On the other Sundays, we will be meeting in the Cloister Room. We will be having informed discussions with our first topics being the Creeds and the Lord’s Prayer; unpacking what it is that we say every Sunday. The format will be a group discussion seated around a large table.
The 9:00 Women’s Bible Study meets in the parlor at 9:00 on Wednesday mornings beginning August 14th for prayer and studying a book of the Bible, applying it to our everyday lives. There is a Zoom component to allow participation for those not able to be with us in person. We will be studying the gospel of Mark.
The Men’s Bible Study meets at 7:00 on Thursday mornings beginning August 15 in the Cloister room with coffee and bagels. They are led by Will McDavid and will be continuing their study of the Gospel of Mark.
The Wise Women’s Bible Study meets 10:45-11:45 in the Cloister room on Wednesday mornings and some of the participants stay afterward for the noon Eucharist. This group begins August 14th and will also be studying the gospel of Mark.
As part of Christ Church’s Bicentennial celebration, the Bicentennial Committee will be holding a series of forums during the Sunday school hour throughout the program year on the history, life, and art of Christ Church. The first forum, on August 18, will begin at 9:15 in the Great Hall and feature a light breakfast and a talk by local historian Andy Lawson on the history of Macon. The rest of the forums will begin at 9:30 in the Great Hall.
