September was a busy month as our fall program got into full swing.
We started off on September 7 with a parish breakfast to welcome everyone home from the summer.
That evening, the ECW held their fall gathering at the home of Lane and Tim Sheridan.
On September 8, the Seasoned Saints had their monthly get together with a chicken dinner at the home of Maryel Battin.
On September 9, we gathered in Jones Chapel for our quarterly Rooted service.
On September 14, Karen and Peter Holliday hosted a newcomer party where we welcomed and got to know all those who are new to Christ Church.
From September 19–21 we went to Kanuga in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina for a parish retreat weekend. We played in the water, hiked on the trails, ate s’mores by the campfire, worshipped in the forest, and studied Psalm 121 and its promise that our “help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.”
On September 28, we welcomed the newest member of God’s family with the baptism of Lutricia Richardson’s granddaughter Carlice. On to October!
