Cherry Blossom 2026

Cherry Blossom Week at Christ Church

Founded in 1825, Christ Church is Macon, Georgia’s oldest church and so we are glad to welcome the community to visit us during Macon’s most important week: the International Cherry Blossom Festival!

Whether it’s for our Spring Art Show, one of our stained glass window tours, our worship services Sunday mornings at 8:00 am and 10:30 am, or all three, we welcome all of our neighbors from around Macon and Middle Georgia to join us during the festival as we celebrate the city of Macon and its beautiful cherry trees!

Spring Art Show

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

Christ Episcopal Church will host its annual Spring Art Show during Cherry Blossom Festival week, featuring a curated collection of original artwork by local and regional artists.  About 70 works have been selected from 30 local artists. Many works will be for sale, with a 20% commission going to the church and the remainder going to the artist. The exhibition will be held in the Great Hall and is open to the public daily from 9:00 am–5:00 pm (1:00 pm–5:00 pm Sunday), inviting the community to experience creativity, reflection, and beauty within the church.

Stained Glass Window Tours

From Saturday, March 21 through Tuesday, March 24, we will be offering tours of the church’s stained glass windows at 11 am and 2 pm (2 pm only on Sunday). Feel free to come and invite anyone who may be interesting in learning more about Christ Church, our history, buildings, and artwork. Christ Church has a long and interesting history, nearly as long as the history of Macon itself! Learned about the parish’s humble beginnings in the 1820s, the construction of it first building, the construction of the current building in 1851, and the many ways the church has changed with the city. See and learn about many of the church’s remarkable works of art, including the Good Samaritan window, and early and experimental work by famed American stained glass artist Louis Comfort Tiffany, and the massive C.B. Fisk and Co. opus 115 pipe organ.
